Nothing but problems with this tutorial. 1/3 of the way through you stop paying attention to details, assuming your readers know everything you know. You also have typos in your copy leading to mistakes in your code.

I spent 12 hours of total frustration, and I only got to…

…which doesn’t work.

Sorry to bash on you dude. You really should do a rewrite.

Or, you could learn real AS3 and make one that loads in multiple SWFs and uses XML which allows for easier customization.

Hi David,

I have just gone through this tutorial and are having the same problem, in regards to the error message “The class ‘utils.Fader’ must subclass ‘flash.display.MovieClip’ since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.”

I was wondering if you figured out how to fix it

Hi,
First of all, great tutorial, I am using it for my portfolio. I do have a little question about it though.

How could I color the buttons to indicate the site that is visited? I was thinking that I could indicate it by a line underneath the word, ad I could put that line in the individual frame. But I was wondering if there would be a way to display the text in a different color??
