Flash keeps crashing upon entering the first block of code. Wish I could finish the site tho :/

Hi i’m a HSC student trying to make a project in multimedia…

I agree that the information was a bit confusing, i can’t follow it. i’m using adobe flash cs3…. is that right?

Get this message (in AS2) when I finish the preloader instructions:

This type of quotation mark is not allowed in ActionScript. Please change it to a standard (straight) double quote.

Having Problems!

Im at:

“Now make a second layer in scene1 and call it content.
Click on the third frame and press F6 to make it a key frame.

Now drag your content_mc to the stage and center it horizontal.”

My preloader is still in scene 1 and is still showing “loading”! Was I supposed to make the content_mc in a new flash file?

hi, i’m having trouble with this right from the get go.

i’ve used flash to make a few websites (the first was created using another of your guides) and i got the hang of it really quickly but i’m totally stumped on this one.

frustratingly enough it’s right at the preloader stage.

‘Now open your preloader_mc and drag the movie clip loading_mc on to the stage.
Make sure that you are in the layer textW.’

i’m not sure how i am meant to do this?

when i start my site off, i have Scene 1 then i ctrl f8 to make the preloader_mc but i don’t know how i can drag drop items into this?

i probably need to go into more detail about the problem or just give up lol. i think maybe the instructions need to be made more idiot proof for total newbies like me
