Thanks for this great information. I am a freelance designer but only part time. I do make some very good part time income doing this.

This site alone has given me some very good ideas and thoughts on how I should make my freelance design into a full blown online career.

I would also recommend using a service like Boxrockit.com to see digital goods through Twitter. Unused designs and doodles can make you some cash instead of just sitting in a folder somewhere.

I’m agree with Jeremy, and think that “all-in-one” technic may kill additional, sometimes requested skills of designer. They shouldn’t think about the traffic of developed website. In other way, more skills you have, more money you can earn.
What about coding? Think that knowing html, css, java script/ajax, and any server side scripting language is talk about that designer well.
