Give http://www.pilo.me a look. It is a solid and utterly amazing font forum which houses thousands of free fonts. Many from foundries and type designers. It is an invite only forum, but if you can get in, you will have a paradise of type to try and test at your disposal.

With all these sites that offer free fonts, no wonder the economy is in shambles. Doesn’t anyone want to spend any money anymore?

If you are looking for free fonts, check http://www.fonts2u.com. Discovered it just few days ago. Their
character map search is awesome! Saved some time when looking for specific character maps supported.
