If I was to go for professional web design, I wouldn’t even bother checking 99Designs or Crowdspring – crowdsourcing never works well and people mostly steal each other’s ideas.
Joshua Davis (2 years ago)
I agree that crowdsourcing sites don’t belong in a list of professional job boards. I suggest they be removed or have the post title changed.
Alberto (2 years ago)
Agreed.
Crowdsourcing -as established in the business models of those sites- doesn’t work. They’re more like design sweatshops, if you ask me.
Also, both CrowdSpring and 99Designs condone plagiarism in their sites. Follow @LogomotiveMike for a view into how these sites deal with rips.
So no, no way I can think of these being in a ‘professional’ design sites compilation.

Uh oh. Promoting some spec work here. Surprised the comments haven’t turned to battle grounds.

Wanted to know something, from what I figured about crowdsourcing was that it a fast way to reuse your massive store of creatives kept in the drawer and earning from the same.
Am sure all designers have loads of creatives, which never got used commercially, so why not use them now. Some of the sites mentioned do follow strict guidelines as per DMCA and on intimation by anyone, take strict action against the plagiarism
